2024 Mitchell Hamline Law Review Symposium – LGBTQ+ and the Law

The symposium will feature two events: one panel featuring lawyers, individuals in public service, and activists who are LGBTQ+ who will share about how their identities have impacted their work and navigation of legal spaces. The second conversation will address LGBTQ+ legal struggles and successes, such as reflecting on bills and laws in the nation banning gender-affirming care, the 2023 Supreme Court decision in 303 Creative, and so much more. Both panels will be moderated by Professor Jared Mollenkof, faculty advisor to Out!Law.

The Mitchell Hamline Law Review in coordination with the Center for the Study of Black Life and the Law highlighted and explored Furtive Blackness & The Afterlives of Slavery as part of the spring symposium.

2022 Mitchell Hamline Law Review Symposium

The 2022 Law Review Symposium highlighted and explored the deep fissures in our criminal justice system and featured discussions with lawyers and community leaders who are making change through their representation, advocacy, and leadership.

2021 Mitchell Hamline Law Review Symposium

The 2021 Law Review Symposium focused on creating trauma-informed professionals who not only understand various types of trauma but who also know how to manage their own mental health.
